Our truck drivers do an ultra-tough job every day - not only in times of the Corona pandemic. With their tireless commitment, they ensure the supply of goods to society and the economy at all times; and they do this under sometimes very difficult conditions.

The "Initiative DocStop für Europäer e. V." puts our truck drivers in touch with doctors on the road who have agreed to provide them with medical care at short notice. Only a healthy and rested truck driver is an equally safe road user.

The working conditions of drivers have a direct impact on road safety and the safety of other road users. It is therefore all the more important that the drivers themselves are always well looked after. Sanitary facilities for personal hygiene are available to truck drivers at 1260 rest stops on the federal motorways and at an additional 225 private motorway rest stops.

Particularly as a result of the Corona pandemic, there is unfortunately a shortage of sanitary facilities at numerous loading and unloading points ("ramps"). To make up for this gap, the industry initiative "#Logistikhilft" is campaigning for the procurement and operation of shower and toilet containers as a contribution to the sanitary care of our truck drivers at selected logistics locations. As patron of the industry initiative "#Logistikhilft", I therefore welcome the efforts of the "Initiative DocStop für Europäer e. V." ("Sanistop" campaign) for better sanitary care for our truck drivers during this difficult time for them. I wish all those involved every success and good health.
